Thursday, October 22, 2020—Important Note: District 8-5A Division II is switching to a ZONED SCHEDULE and is starting District play all over again next week, according to news releases of what Randy Jackson related. The “already played” games will still count on season records, but will only come into play in District Records if those games occur again in “seeding games” to determine play-off spots—and then those scores will “stand.”
Due to COVID cancellations, now each team in the 8-team District will play 3 zoned games, and then there will be zoned seeding games the 4th week, on November 20, to determine play-off spots.
ZONE A will be composed of Crandall, Ennis, Forney, and Royse City. ZONE B will have Greenville, Corsicana, North Forney, and Sulphur Springs.
Zone A and Zone B winners will play each other for the numbers one and two play-off spots—and the 2nd place teams from each zone will play each other for the numbers 3 and 4 berths.
