OUR TEAMS finally had their first games of this “very different season,” as the COVID-19 pandemic has wreaked havoc with traditional schedules and practices.

The North Forney FALCONS opened their season in a fantastic way (Sept. 24), knocking off favored 5A—Division 1 and 2nd ranked in the State Frisco Lone Star, and they did it at Frisco! They opened a big lead, 21—3, in the 2nd quarter and then let the defense take over while scoring 13 more points the rest of the way to come out victorious, 34—31, over a “game” but shocked Rangers football team. Falcon total yardage was 356 compared to 237 for Lone Star, which made the game close with a touchdown near the end but could not recover their onside kick with under two minutes remaining in the

game.

That same Thursday night, Frisco defeated favored Frisco Independence (17—14), Lake Highlands defeated Mesquite Poteet (49—20), Springtown defeated Midlothian Heritage (24—17), and North Mesquite defeated Fort Worth Trimble Tech (20—6).

On Sept. 25 the Forney High JACKRABBITS ran into “rough sledding” against highly regarded Whitehouse. Our guys led early in the 2nd quarter (7—6), but the Wildcats took over after that for the next four tallies to make it 31—7, before the Rabbits pushed across a final TD run and then the run for PAT to bring the final score to 31—15 in favor of visiting Whitehouse. Total yardage looked to be in favor of Whitehouse (178—126). That same Friday night,
