Billy Joe Montgomery, age 87 passed away, Saturday, September 12, 2020.
His parents, Guy and Mary Montgomery preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Alice Vineyard Montgomery. Other survivors are his daughter, Lana Jo Couch; Granddaughter, Ali Couch; Grandson, Gordon Couch, Great Granddaughter, Rylee Chapman, and Zakk Chapman. Also surviving are Vineyard in - laws and Montgomery and Stout Cousins.
Bill moved to Forney at age 3. He attended Forney Schools, Southern Methodist University, El Centro College and Abilene Christian University. He served in the United States Army stationed in Germany during the Korean War. He was employed by the Town of Highland Park as a police officer and Fireman for 35 years retiring in 1993 to enjoy retirement, raising cattle and hay.
Forney’s growth pushed him further east to Scurry, Texas in 2010 where he resided at death.
Burial services were held at First Baptist Church, Forney, Texas. Memorials may be made to Mount Olive Church, PO Box 99, Scurry, Texas 75158.
