The Autumnal Equinox arrived on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at 8:31 a.m. CDT, so Fall has officially arrived! Forney ISD can celebrate that school is fully back in session whether it be in person or virtual. Every year our teachers work over the summer to prepare for the first school bell’s ring, announcing that now is the time to learn new things. Even though this school year is different, the effort by the wonderful teachers remains the same.
While nobody knew what the rest of the school year was going to be like in the Spring of 2020, the teachers in Forney ISD immediately rose to the challenge, went virtual, and kept right on teaching their students. By the end of the school year, most teachers love their students as family and were unhappy with the way the year had to end--no hugs, no end of school parties, no watching their students head off to the next year. But due to their skills as educators, they still taught their students to the end and prepared them for the next school year.
Forney Education Foundation knows how important the teachers are to the learning process for the students. With their ability to bring all their personal experiences to the classroom, the students and ultimately the community are the biggest benefactors of their knowledge. Since 2008, the Foundation has awarded more than $500,000 to Forney ISD teachers and staff members to fund innovative programs for their classrooms and departments. But of course, FEF couldn’t award any funds for the teacher-requested grants without all of the donations from individuals as well as the corporate partners. Won’t you join the other members of the Forney Family and help fund our hard-working teachers? Please go to www.forneyisdfoundation.org.
