Why are Christians so often defeated when trying to do something that might be used to serve the Lord? First I think we jump up and make our own plan for the project. Very often we don’t want to wait on the Lord or accept His plan for the work. Sometimes we think GOD is too slow to get the job started. Any one of those actions is a mistake because when we wait on the Lord, a blessing comes with job and the work will be the very best we can do.
What if Noah had made his own plan for the ark? I think it would have broken to pieces when the water made it float. What if Solomon had made his own plan for GOD’S temple? It would have dishonored GOD and been an eyesore to those who saw it. In all the centuries that have passed up until today, those rules have not changed. I have heard some Christians say that they have done the same thing with the same results.
Our lack of patience is one of the things that will take away many blessings from us as we race through our lives at high speed. We need to slow down and wait on the one who knows how everything should be done. I believe GOD is pleased when we go to Him with our problems and needs.
BOTTOM LINE: If anyone can figure out how to handle our own projects and problems, please let me know before GOD has to take me to the woodshed…..AMEN
