It feels like just yesterday school abruptly ended in the early days of COVID19. In reality our students have been out of school for almost 6 months.
While most students probably enjoyed this unprecedented long break, some students are ready to return to school and their predictably structured days. More important than what students may want is the fact many students may regress academically after being out of school so long.
Students with learning disabilities are particularly susceptible to academic regression after lengthy breaks. Stated differently, many students will be returning to school having lost much of what they learned last year.
