According to a June 1st article by the Dallas Business Journal, Forney could be seeing a new addition to its already growing light industrial district very soon.
Within the last year, both a 1,200,000 square foot Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. distribution center and a 200,000 square foot Amazon fulfillment center have broken ground in the area surrounding the intersection of Gateway Boulevard and US Highway 80. Now a new project, referred to by the name “Project Forney” in documents submitted to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), is requesting approval to build a 1.08 million square foot fulfillment center immediately south of Goodyear’s 1.2 million square foot facility which is expected to be operational in the very near future.
