Jim was born on December 19, 1935 in Postelle, Arkansas and lived in Alton, MO. He graduated as Salutatorian of Moro High School in Moro, Arkansas. He also enlisted in the Army in 1955 and spent 3 years serving our country.

Jim met Martha in 1958 in Mckinney, TX at Bakers Drive Inn, and they married on August 22, 1959. They were married for 60 ½ years.

Jim worked at Rockwell International in maintenance for 20 plus years and retired in 2000. He was a Deacon at Lucas Baptist Church where he attended for 35 years. His church membership is currently at Waddill St. Baptist Church where he’s spent the past 10 years.

Jim loved traveling and seeing the world and loved to take pictures. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed being a handyman. Most of all he loved his family and being a grandpa. Jim and Martha served others by visiting the sick and elderly.

Jim was a loving husband, wonderful dad and caring grandfather. He loved his adorable son BUT cherished his daughter… HAHA :). He loved his son and daughter “in love” as his own. He was a humble man who loved the word of God and was faithful to God to the end. Jim and Martha lived in Lucas, TX for 50 years from 1966-2015 then moved to Melissa, TX in 2015 where Martha will continue to reside.

Jim is Preceded in death by his children: Donnie Lynn Sullivan 1960; Gregory Paul Sullivan 1966. Parents: Daniel Woodford Sullivan and Clara Edith Haywood Sullivan Brothers/Sisters: Alfred Ralph Sullivan 1915-1951; Irene Sullivan 1916-1917; Vivian R Sullivan Anderson 1918-1994; Emma Lucile Sullivan 1920-1991; Johnell Sullivan 1923-1996; Sarah Gladys Sullivan (Edwards) 1925-2007; Chester Sullivan 1927-1929; Eldon L Sullivan 1930-2002; Alvin Woodford Sullivan 1933-1935; Elva Hobson Sullivan 1935-2020.

Jim is survived by wife Martha Louise Sullivan of Melissa, TX. Son, Randy Martin Sullivan and wife Sharron of Frisco, TX. Daughter, Alicia Michelle Haight and husband Fred of Melissa, TX. He is also survived by his grandchildren Tanner Martin Sullivan of Frisco, TX, Quincie Danae Sullivan of Austin, TX, William Fredrick Haight of Melissa, TX, Celsey Michaela Haight of Melissa, TX, Jack Cuneo Haight of Denton, TX, Leslie Nicole Haight of Denton, TX, Peter Sullivan Haight of Austin, TX, and Abigail Likun Haight of San Marcus, TX. Sister Secretha Leu of Thayer, MO. and Sister in Law: Willie Jane Wooten Sullivan wife of Eldon Sullivan.

Graveside service were held at 3:00PM Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Highland Cemetery, in Melissa, TX. With Fred Arthur Haight officiating. Pallbearers will be Randy Martin Sullivan; Fred Arthur Haight; Tanner Martin Sullivan; William Fredrick Haight; Jack Cuneo Haight and Peter Sullivan Haight. The family received friends on Friday, April 24, 2020 for a come and go visitation from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Scoggins Funeral Home.
