During these unprecedented times in our nation and world, many are worried not only about the health impact of COVID-19, but also about the economic hardships this will present moving forward. Over the last two weeks, countless businesses and organizations have temporarily closed their doors to the public, and this trend continues under the directive of Texas Governor Greg Abbott who stated that businesses such as restaurants, bars, and cafes could no longer serve eat-in customers.

Our local stores and restaurants are evolving their business models as quickly as possible in an effort survive these trying times without putting any staff or customers at unnecessary risk. For most food service establishments, this means they now offer delivery service or curb-side pickup. For retail, this may look like more online availability and shipping options. Many grocers have altered their store hours to allow for more time to stock shelves and even dedicated shopping time for the elderly, who are in one of the most high-risk categories for complications due to COVID-19.
