Many times the innovative teachers in Forney ISD request items for grants that the committee has never even heard of- but when we discover how truly educational the item is, we say yes to the request. That is what happened when Lacey Wright, a teacher at Smith Intermediate School, submitted her grant request for the Little Bits Coding Kits. The Grant Committee knows that anything that can help students understand how to code will give them a heads up in the future.

The Little Bits Coding Kits were created by teachers for teachers to use in their classrooms. The kits come with lights, switches, motors, sensors, connectors, controls, buzzers, and accessories. These items connect to each other by magnets on either end and make things that buzz, glow, spin, roll, fly, and inspire! These kits enable students to make something that does something-they bring ideas to life. Then the students write the code they created enabling them to understand how the coding pathway works.
