“It was just one of those years where we didn’t come out on top,” Coach Woods stated to the team after a 42-28 loss to Kaufman on Friday night. It was a sad night as the seniors left the field for the last time in their high school career. The student section was loud, the fans were cheering and everyone was ready for some Friday Night Lights.
The Jackrabbits had some freshmen suiting up for the first time Friday night, and they came out in a uniform we had only seen once: the all black.
The game started off with Forney receiving the ball. With a couple of runs that gained the Rabbits 6 yards, they went 3 and out early. With a 33 yard pass from Campbell Anderson to Sam Guercia, the Jackrabbits were moving the chains. Shortly after, Anderson completed to Dalbret Ndzishangong for 13 yards to bring them into the redzone. Forney scored off a quick drive with 6 minutes left in the first quarter with a quick 8 yard run into the end zone.
