Austin F. Hess, 21, died suddenly early November 1st while on his moped near his apartment. Austin is survived by his parents, Carolyn and Eric, brother, Alex, half-brother, Andrew and his grandmother, Jean Stewart.
Although his life was short, he touched many peoples’ lives as he crossed their paths. He grew up in Forney and graduated from Forney High School in 2016. Austin loved video games, anime, and rap music. While in high school Austin began a battle with substance abuse. In November of 2018 he took residence at Sundown Ranch, Inc. a drug treatment facility in Greenville, where he spent Thanksgiving and Christmas of that year. We were delighted to find him receptive and responsive to the treatment. He regained weight, personality, and most of all, hope.
He left in February and began a sober life. He had an apartment in Dallas, and was starting a new direction in his life with the help of his brother, Alex, and his good friend, Nate. It was at this point that the fatal accident occurred, ending his journey early.
Austin was a positive and humorous companion to many, especially in tense and often stressful environments. His quirky sense of humor imparted levity and joy wherever he was. He leaves a gaping hole in the lives of his friends, his family, and possibly countless other acquaintances he encountered along the way.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday November 6th from 4-6pm at New Hope Funeral Home, 500 East Highway 80, Sunnyvale TX 75182.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Sundown Ranch, 3120 VZCR 2318, Canton TX, 75103
