North Stays in Playoff Hunt with Win

It was a cold and dreary night. The wind swirled the misty rain as it streamed across the field. This was not the beginning of a horror novel. Instead, it was the setting for a football game on the Friday before Halloween, as the North Forney Falcons traveled the few miles down the road to take on the Terrell Tigers last Friday night.

It could have been a nightmare game for the Falcons, as they desperately cling to playoff hopes, but they were able to hold off the Tigers, 50-28. It was an ugly game. It was sloppy.

While the Falcons (5-3 overall, 3-3 in District 8-5A, DII) racked up 340 total yards of offense, they gave up 333. 330 of those were on the ground. The Falcons were helped by four Tigers’ fumbles, and they intercepted one pass, late in the fourth quarter, to put the game away.
