Following consecutive losses to Ennis and Corsicana the two weeks prior, their first two losses of the season, the North Forney Falcons needed a remedy to turn their season back around and get pointed toward the playoffs. Greenville, the District 8-5A DII opponent that the Falcons beat 49-21 last season, seemed to be just what the doctor ordered. With a week of practice that Head Coach Randy Jackson said may have been the best this group has had this season, the Falcons headed east for last Friday night’s game.
Greenville, however, had other plans. The Lions showcased speed in executing their option offense to near perfection, rolling up 581 total yards, in a 49-38 upset of the Falcons (3-3, 1-3 in district). The Lions had 386 yards on the ground, including 220 from Lester Turner. The Falcons had 532 total yards, as both defenses struggled to contain the run.
