If you ask anyone around town if they know Mawonn Smith, they may be unsure. But do they know Moe at the post office? Chances are, they do. Moe made his mark on our town with his courteous nature and joyful character. Immeasurable patrons were greeted by his trademark smile, day in and day out, for the last fourteen years.
Moe, originally from Waco, Texas, was unexpectedly taken from us on October 2nd in a car accident. The hole left by the absence of the 37 year old is vast. “He was a gentle giant with a big heart,” commented Danette Steward, Postmaster. “Moe was never rude, always polite.” His position as the Lead Sales Service Associate for the Forney Post Office will be a hard one to fill, both professionally and personally.
