The Forney Jackrabbits (2-3,1-3) travelled to Royse City to take on the Royse City Bulldogs for a windy district 8-5A match up. “It’s a tough loss. We felt like we could get on a roll,” Coach Woods commented at the end of the night.
The game started out with the crowd yelling and cheering on the Jackrabbits as they kicked off to the Bulldogs to get this match up underway.
It was a defensive matchup in the first quarter, as both teams struggled to find the end zone. At the end of the first quarter, the score was 0-0. Both teams kept their run games strong throughout the whole game.
“We knew this would be a tough one for us,” Woods stated. The Bulldogs are on a 5 game win streak and undefeated this season. Forney knew it was going to be a defensive battle. We all know that defense wins championships, and Forney’s defense made some big plays throughout the night, including two big sacks from Senior Westin Beeman. Beeman also had a forced fumble that was recovered by Senior Keshon Johnson.
