Memories: Catching passes from Jimmy Duckworth during the “off-season” and knowing he would be a “PRO.” Pledging to stay in shape all summer so that “two-a-days” would not be “killers.” Starting to run and get into shape one or two weeks before “two-adays” began.
100 degrees days! The dreaded “Cowboy Mile.” (Only some of you know what that was.) Salt tablets. Limited water breaks to “make you a man.” Drinking from puddles at the side of the field if it rained! Freshmen “pulling” Seniors’ jerseys.
