Brian Allen Cunningham of Forney, Texas passed away on June 18, 2019. He was born in Greenville, Texas to Melinda A. (Davies) and Horace T. Cunningham. Brian was raised in Forney and graduated from Forney High School in 1986. After high school Brian went to Chaminade University in Honolulu, Hawaii. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin where he received a bachelor’s degree in history, fulfilling his lifelong dream of being a Texas Longhorn. Brian joined the Army in 1988 and was stationed at Fort Hood, Fort Sam Houston, and at Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii. Brian served in both Desert Shield and Desert Storm. After his service he was discharged with the rank of SGT.
On May 10, 1991 Brian married the love of his life and best friend, Chanda Cunningham. They married at the First Baptist Church in Forney where they both attended. He and Chanda loved spending time together. Brian was a wonderful cook and would make amazing meals for his family. He enjoyed spending time with everyone. Brian was employed for the City of Dallas for 20 years as an environmental manager. He truly enjoyed his work in the Dallas community.
Brian leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Chanda; his parents, Horace and Melinda Cunningham; brother, Michael Cunningham and wife, Sara; mother and father in law, Jim and Betty Hawkins; brothers and sisters in law: Todd and Cheri Alexander, Craig and Candy Hawkins and Todd and Lisa Hawkins; 11 nieces and nephews, 5 great nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends who will miss him so much.
Funeral service for Brian were held Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Forney followed by an interment at Hillcrest Cemetery after the service.
