At the age of eight, most little boys might be interested in video games or Lego bricks or baseball. Evan Grubaugh is, in fact, your average little boy most of the time, preparing to enter the third grade at Crosby Elementary School this fall and attending church at Fellowship Forney with his family. But in much of his spare time, he is also chasing his dream to become a Professional Bull Rider.
In 2017, with the encouragement of his grandparents, Willie and Amy Grubaugh, Evan started riding calves. The adventure began while he was attending Camp of Champions in Oklahoma at the age of six. Camp of Champions is a rodeo camp that teaches boys and girls the skills of roping and riding while also emphasizing growth in the Christian Faith. It was at this camp that Evan found his love for bull riding and also professed his faith in Jesus and was baptized. The next two years were spent polishing his skills at camps, as well as on the Grubaugh’s ranch. Then in January 2019, Evan began attending rodeos and finally competing last spring.
