The ability to think critically has never been more important than it is today. The future well-being of the United States depends heavily on our current and future political, spiritual, business and academic leadership’s ability to think critically and make informed, thought-out decisions. If what is occurring in politics, education, business and even churches right now is an indicator of future decision making for our nation, we are in serious dire straits.

I am concerned that our current academic priority remains standardized testing. With test scores as our number one goal, critical thinking has become a secondary (or worse) priority in education. Our students are taught to think somewhat critically about potential questions and answers on a standardized test.
