Yes, as the saying goes, “Mommin’ ain’t easy!” But, boy, is it worth it. When a realization came to me fairly recently that my husband and I have had someone age 5 or under in our house for the last 16 solid years, it occurred to me that I managed to do more than survive all that time. Sure, sometimes, it really is simply survival. Those are the days that I’m just pleased to announce that we all lived through the day and no one burned the house down. But then there are also the moments that I watch my kids perform seemingly small mundane tasks, and I’m overwhelmed with pride knowing what that milestone means to them.

I won’t pretend to be an expert at parenting – one look into my daily life will dispel all questions pertaining to that. But I will say that I have a wealth of advice based on real life experiences. Let me put this out there: to all of you moms who are just starting out on this adventure, or to the moms who are deep in the trenches, WE WILL SURVIVE. It’s true – I’ve heard firsthand survival stories from strong women who have raised strong-willed children who turned out just fine. And the moms made it through too. They did it, and so can we!
