Friday morning, June 14, dropped Mom Themer off at “High Stylers,” took a car key to son, Waylon, at City Bank, quickly secured our soft drinks/coffee/gas at 7-11, and “tooled” out to I-20 in Markout, heading towards Granbury with great anticipations.
A little background, My sister, Ann Moreau, and her husband, Bob, live in Pecan Plantation in Granbury and had invited us to some day attend a theatre production at the Granbury Theatre Company. When we found out that Grease was slated for June, we hurriedly accepted and asked them to procure tickets for that nostalgia piece! Why? Well, in June of 1978, Don had a “first date” with future wife, Vivian, and stood in line for several hours to get “opening night” movie tickets for Grease (John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John), for Viv had mentioned that she really, really wanted to attend and that it would be really special to attend the evening it opened.
