For the fourth year in a row, the Forney High School Student Council has been recognized by the Texas Association of Student Councils (TASC) as a Sweepstakes Council. To earn this honor the Forney High School Student Council must be recognized as an Outstanding Student Council. In addition, the Forney High School Student Council had to receive outstanding recognition in a number of categories including Drugs, Alcohol, Safety and Health (DASH); Pride and Patriotism and Energy and Environment. The council had to also submit a Community Service Report. The award is sponsored by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals.
The Forney High School Student Council members develop proven skills in team building, problem solving, project planning, and decision making. Through their co-curricular activities, these student council members serve their communities while strengthening their academic and civic skills.
