Rowlett Mayor Tammy Dana-Bashian presented Dr. Robert Megna a Life Saving Award from the City of Rowlett at the regular City Council Meeting on Tuesday, March 19 2019.
At approximately 3:45 p.m. on Sunday, December 30, Rowlett resident Ott Siluangkhot, a member of the Rowlett Community Centre, suffered a heart attack in the gym while playing pickleball. Fortunately, Dr. Robert Megna, who is an avid pickleball player in his free time, was present to take charge of the situation immediately. When Mr. Siluangkhot initially lost consciousness, Dr. Megna jumped into action and directed someone to call 9-1-1 and requested the Community Centre’s Automated External Defibrillator (A.E.D.) while he assessed the situation.
