Jerrel Julian passed away on March 11, 2019 in Forney, Texas at the age of 98. He was born May 3, 1920 in Hunt County, Texas to Jesse & Mabel Julian.
After finishing school in Josephine, Texas he became involved with the Civilian Conservation Corps & the Texas National Guard. He entered the United States Army on November 25, 1940. Jerrel was involved with Operation Torch in North Africa beginning in June of 1942. He later served in the invasion of Italy, southern France, & southern Germany. He left the United States Army on July 1, 1945.
He attended North Texas State College in the fall of 1945. He attained a Bachelor of Science degree in Public School Administration in 1948. He also received a Masters of Education in Public School Finance in 1951 from North Texas State College. Jerrel spent 35 years in the Texas Public School System. He was an elementary school principal & high school principal. The majority of his career he served as a school superintendent & school judge. Jerrel was a member of the Texas Masonic Lodge, Lions International, & American Legion. He was also a member of The Southern Baptist Church.
Jerrel Julian was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Marie & his youngest son, James. He is survived by his eldest son, Harvey; & four sisters to cherish his memory.
Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church in Forney, Texas on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.
