North Forney Moves on to Third Round of Playoffs

After a disappointing 2018 campaign, one in which he completed his sixth year as an assistant coach, Donald Fleming was named head coach of the North Forney Lady Falcons basketball team. In his new position, Fleming began adopting many of the leadership and cultural policies that had been ushered in by Athletic Coordinator/Head Football Coach Randy Jackson.

Players and coaches would be held accountable for what they did both on and off the court. They would set defined goals, as individuals and as a team. They would be encouraged and, regardless of their role on the team, they would understand their value. They would be family first and grow as a team. They would have group outings and team dinners. They would have what Fleming calls, “family meetings,” to discuss what they could do better for each other. The girls bought in and embarked on a journey that now lands them in the 5A Region II quarterfinals.
