The final 2018 American Football Coaches Association Division II poll ranked the LIONS as the #9 team in the nation. This was their 3rd year in a row to conclude the season with double-digit victories and the 4th year in a row to advance to the Division II Play-offs. And for the 3rd straight year they advanced to the Regional Semi-Final Round.
Four 2018 Lions opponents finished in the “Top 25”—#5 Tarleton, #7 Colorado State-Pueblo, #13 Minnesota-Duluth, #25 MSU Texas.
This is A&M-Commerce’s 58th all-time appearance in the AFCA Poll since its beginning in 2000.
In polls recognized by Division II as the top rating system, the Lions have been recognized as a nationally ranked team 107 times since joining the Division in 1981.
