North Forney and Forney volleyball teams are wrapping up an exciting run in 13-5A with a District Championship and Runner- Up finish. Game after game we have seen exciting, wellexecuted competition from the girls on both teams, and each time they met each other, the rivalry was fierce and fun! Of course, we are proud any time our teams win District, as North Forney has done this year. We love it when they can enter the playoffs playing well, as Forney is doing yet again, but there is much more here than meets the eye that stays on the scoreboard. First, head coaches are siblings. Holly Perkins, in her second year at NFHS, has clearly raised the bar for the Falcons, and she has led them to their first District volleyball championship.
The Falcons split with Forney, a perennial playoff team that’s having another strong season. Holly’s brother, Richard Haynes, is in his third season at the Jackrabbit helm; they’ve averaged over 30 wins per season in his tenure.
