Fans hoping for a reprisal of last year’s shootout between then district foes North Forney Falcons and Wylie East Raiders, a 70-65 win for North, would be sorely disappointed. In fact, anyone looking for a game on Friday night in Goonville, TX would be left wanting and, after the thunderstorms that rolled through the area, probably a little wet. After nearly three hours of lightning delays, the Falcons’ second and final non-district game was postponed to Saturday afternoon.
The story of this game, which kicked off at 12:30 pm under more threatening skies, was rain, a 35-minute lightning delay, a 20-minute injury delay, another strong performance from the North defense, and a Falcons offense that came alive after being shut out last week.
