According to the bible, true born again Christians will be judged for their works. By earth standards, the works are gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, and stubble. Gold is the first one mentioned. That must mean that GOD’S judgment will begin with the most precious one of all. If we try to figure what that is, we need to refer to the words of Jesus when He was asked about the greatest commandment of all, He replied, the greatest commandment is “love the Lord your GOD with all your heart, body and soul and strength”. I believe that is the most precious treasure we could ever send to Heaven. The bible says that GOD is love and when we return that love to GOD, there is nothing more precious to Him. Maybe we can find out exactly what that means.
First, we cannot love someone we don’t know, that would be the first step. Now, at the point of forgiveness of sin and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit, we are like little babies in the Spirit. We must be taught about GOD and what our relationship is to Him. As we learn about Him, we can come to love Him because He first loved us and made a way for us to go to Heaven. We need to remember that when we obey that first commandment all the others will fall into place. GOD does not overlook the least act we do for Him. Just a kind word to someone who needs it, will go into our treasure chest in Heaven.
