Earnest Earl Carter, 93, has been welcomed into the kingdom of God on 8.1.18 after a brief illness when his heart began to fail him. Earl was a fighter to the bitter end, and died at the Mineola Healthcare Residence in Mineola, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Ruth Dyer Carter, on 2.18.15. They were members of First Baptist Church of Forney and lived in the Winner Circle subdivision, in Talty Texas for many years before Ms. Ruth’s illness and their move George. Mr. Carter served as Mayor of the Town of Talty from 2005 to 2007. As Mayor, he wanted to represent the citizens of Talty the best way he could Obituary and tried to give the people a voice. Once a friend, he never forgot you and made an effort to regularly keep in touch. While born and raised in Alabama, he loved Texas and the Town of Talty. Earl was a rough and gruff talker with a heart of gold to those that knew him. Earl proudly served his country during World War II with the U.S. Army Signal Core. He loved being a truck driver, hauling cars across the nation. When his age kept him off long hauls, he signed on with an attorney to investigate truck accidents. He was in demand as an expert witness. Earl was a hardworking man and always a great provider for his family. He was always looking for something that made him a few dollars in retirement. He was a great storyteller and you needed to just pull up a chair and sit awhile. Earl Carter was buried at Roselawn Funeral Home in Seagoville, Texas. Earl will be in our hearts and will forever be loved and missed. Our lives have been touched and will never be the same. May he rest in Peace.
