I’m about to cancel my subscriptions to the Dallas Morning News, Time Magazine and National Geographic. I’ve gotten to the point that I don’t watch ANY newscasts except the local one. Of course I got off FaceBook years ago and have never been on Twitter, Snapchat or any other “social” sites. Why have I thus isolated myself from media? Heck, if I want to be lied to, I can just ask my cat where she’s been for the last few days.
To counteract the exaggerations and outright lies of other media outlets, I strictly view source websites. You know, the boring kind with all those of graphs and charts. One of my favorites is the DMI, which stands for the Danish Meteorological Institute. All they do is keep track of how much snow and ice falls in places like Iceland and Greenland.
