A roman centurion named Cornelius was praying to GOD one time when an angel appeared to him and told him his prayers had come up before GOD for a memorial and he should send to Joppa for one Simon Peter who was staying with a tanner who lived by the sea. GOD put Peter in a trance and showed him that he should not call anyone unclean who GOD had cleaned. Then the men Cornelius sent came to the gate of the house and when Peter found out what they came for, he went with them the next day. Several Jews went with Peter to witness what would happen.
