Carlynn Loftin Buice passed away peacefully on May 22, 2018. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, John Edwin Buice of Wimberley, Texas; two daughters, Janie Buice of Wimberley, TX and Judy Buice of New Braunfels, TX; grandson, Walt Harris (Sarah) of Llano, TX; great grandchildren, Hadley and Hays Harris of Llano, TX; sister, Frances Gruwell, of Colorado; sister-in-law, Barbara Buice of Ohio; Dava Brown Benage (loved like a daughter) of Longview, TX and a number of nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Carlynn was born in Pecan Gap, Texas on December 13, 1928 to Les and Lottie Willmon Loftin and raised by her grandparents, Tom and Janie Willmon. She attended East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas where she received her BS and Masters Degrees. She married John Edwin Buice in Dallas on Jan. 6, 1950 and shortly thereafter they made their home in Forney, Texas for some 44 years. She taught third grade in Forney for 27 years and spent a number of years teaching Sunday School and serving in many capacities at First Baptist Church, Forney. In later years she retired and moved with her husband to Wimberley to be closer to children and grandchildren. She will be remembered always for her service to others and her sweet and caring disposition. A visitation was held Friday, May 25, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the Chapel in First Baptist Church, Forney, Texas. Service followed at 11:00 AM in the Chapel with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery, Forney, Texas under the direction of Max Slayton Funerals and Cremations.
