From the beginning of Jesus’ ministry His greatest desire was to instill “faith” in His followers. He knew that without faith, it is impossible to please GOD. Jesus worked with His closest followers “His Apostles”, teaching them to have faith in Him and His teachings apart from the law. They all had certain faith about physical things but faith in GOD without the law was unheard of in that day. Jesus taught them that He was going to fulfill the law and their obedience would be to Him and His word. At first, they could not see how they could do that but as time went on and Jesus healed and taught the people, proving that He was the “Christ”, they slowly began to see what He was saying to them and the people. It was necessary for them to believe and trust in Him because He would soon set up and start the church. The Holy Spirit was to be the guide and each person would be equal to the high Priest with the power to lead a person to Jesus Christ to receive salvation.
