I have seen tweets, Facebook Posts and emails lately with the tagline, “It’s a good day to be a Jackrabbit!” I love the line. If you are a player or fan of either diamond sport at FHS, then it’s a particularly good day, or series of days, to be a Jackrabbit. Both teams advanced in the state playoffs this past weekend with respective two game sweeps of their opponents.
The Lady Jackrabbit Softball team faced off against Sulphur Springs in their Regional Quarterfinal Matchup. While the pitching duo of Savanna DesRochers (Game 1) and Sadie Hewitt (Game 2), held the Lady Cats in check, this series was defined by the Jackrabbit Offense. They scored 14 runs in each game. That was the most by any team advancing over the weekend, by a margin of 7!
