This past Saturday, April 14th, 2018 the North Forney Indoor Percussion Ensemble competed in the North Texas Colorguard Association Championship to defend their 2017 championship title. The NTCA Championship is the culmination of a season of 5 contests that began in February. Going into the championship, North Forney was seated in 1st place. In championship competition, North Forney earned the 1st place gold medal with a score of 94.95. Once again, North Forney Percussion scored the highest score of the entire championship, out scoring 38 participating groups.
The NF percussion score of 94.95 is the highest percussion score ever obtained by a percussion group in the 25 year history of the NTCA. On April 14th across the state of Texas, there were 90 indoor percussion groups competing at two circuit championships. North Forney Indoor Percussion outscored every group across the state.
