“Hey, Mr. Themer, Mr. Themer! We are going to win even more now. We are getting KEVIN RUSH!”

The above exact words were gleefully spoken to me approximately 27 years ago in the spring as I was returning to my classroom after lunch and had opened the hall door to my first afternoon English II Class. The speaker was a sophomore football player and his two football-playing buddies.

My reply was, “What or who is a Kevin Rush? Is it a sports drink, special food, motivational high, or just what?”
