Next week, I will be serving as an Election Judge again for the first time in about 20 years. I went through training on the new voting system and yesterday I got to see my sweet wife Lori the Early Voting Election Judge and I voted using the new system. I love it. Your vote is stored on a flash drive so counting should be a lot faster, but for me, the best part is that you actually have a printed ballot that can be recounted. I never trusted strictly electronic voting to be free from manipulation. Kaufman County Commissioners hit it out of the park with the purchase of the new equipment. I think you’ll love it. I hope you will indulge me a little while I reminisce about past primaries. It was thirtytwo years ago and believe it or not, I was a young man. No Republican had ever been elected in Kaufman County. While the Democrat Primary took place in twenty-nine precincts, the handful of people who wanted to vote in the Republican Primary only had four choices; Kaufman, Terrell, Forney and Kemp.
