At the Passover Jesus went to the temple to worship as customary at that time. When He arrived, He found merchants selling animals and doves in the temple and the money changers who charged the people for changing their money to temple money. Jesus became grieved and angry because they defiled the holy temple in such manner. He made a whip from chords (for the animals), “and drove them all out of the temple and told them they had made GOD’S house a house of merchandise instead of a house of prayer”. After that they were able to worship in a proper manner in GOD’S house. The Jews did not like to be treated like that and asked Jesus, what sign do you show us for doing these things? Jesus said, destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up.
