Through the years, several local college signings have caught my attention for various reasons. For example, Richard Norwood, my first “coaching boss,” signed with Arlington State College/University of Texas at Arlington, as did my high school teammates, Don Morrison and Ernest Baptist. A student I coached and another I taught, Steve Collier and Curtis Thigpen, signed with the University of Texas at Austin. My friend, Terry Skinner, signed with my Alma Mater, East Texas State University. And there have been many, many more, a few to several each year, increasing as Forney has grown.
