At 14 wins and 1 loss heading into last week’s two games against highly ranked U. T. Permian Basin (#11) and West Texas A & M (#7), the Texas A & MCommerce Lions (#10 in one poll and #12 in another) were feeling great and looking to possibly move up in the rankings. Unfortunately, although coming oh, so close, it was not to happen at this time.
On January 18, 2018, the Lions fell behind 32-36 against the home team U.T. Permian Basin Falcons; then managed to outscore them 31-28 in the second half—but fell short at the buzzer by one point, losing 63-64 for their 2nd loss of the season.
