REALLY GOOD FRIED CHICKEN IS HARD TO FIND
Body

Several years ago there was a fried Chicken place between Davis and Scyene Road just West of Highway 350 in Mesquite. I don’t remember the name but I remember the chicken well. Their fried chicken was pretty good, but the seasoning they would put on it was delicious. The place always seemed to be full of fried chicken lovers like me, eager to place their order and wait patiently for their order. The cook would put your chicken order in the deep fryer fresh. There were no stacks of already prepared foul in this chicken joint. However he might take several orders and cook them at once. Then as a final step he would put your meal in a cardboard tray, take a big, unlabeled, rectangular, plastic shaker and spread a generous coating of his secret blend of herbs, salt and spices on your order. Lastly, he would place it in a paper bag. In my memory the place must have been strictly takeout because I don’t remember tables in the tiny establishment. Patrons would head out of the door with their culinary prize of steaming hot fried and perfectly spiced chicken.
