On Saturday evening, January 6, Harry and Georgia Power and Don and Vivian Themer journeyed to Commerce to take in some basketball at the Field House of Texas A&M-Commerce (old E. T. S. U.) and came away ecstatic after victories by both the Women and Men in exciting fashion each game.
The men opened the game with cold shooting and seeming lethargy and faced a 17-point deficit before ten minutes had even elapsed. Needless to say that at least the two men were almost ready to say, “It is going to be a long night and a disappointing trip!” Although still holding out hope for better results as the game progressed, the premium chocolate chip cookies for which the concession stand is famous seemed a lot more worthy of attention than did the game!
