Forney (Tuesday, December 12, 2017) -- In the District 15-5A opener for both teams, the state ranked Wylie East Lady Raiders defeated the North Forney Lady Falcons by a count of 35-15. With the victory, Wylie East, who is currently ranked 12th in the state among Class 5A Girls Basketball Teams by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches, improves to 12-3 overall and 1-0 in District 15-5A play while North Forney falls to 3-14 and 0-1 respectively.
In the first half, both teams struggled to find any offensive rhythm. So, consequently, the half time score was 12-2 in favor of Wylie East. In fact, the first points of this game were not registered until the 3:30 mark of the first quarter via an offensive rebound put back basket by Wylie East’s 6’1” freshman post A’Kasha Davis.
