A couple of months ago I got a Facebook friend request. It was the kind of request you hope you get every once in a while. It was from a friend named Rick who I hadn’t seen since I was a Sophomore in High School. Rick and I became pretty close friends although I only knew him for a couple of years. He moved to Floresville, the town I grew up in and along with our friends Joe Travieso and Joe’s brother Jerry we spent most of our free time together. We went quail hunting together, went roller skating with our Church Youth Group and attended Church Camp at Camp Bandina in the Texas Hill Country.
I never forgot Rick even though he moved to Oklahoma in 1972 and I hadn’t seen him, or heard from him until I got that friend request on Facebook. He told me he is a coach in Catoosa, Oklahoma.
