Wanda Fay (Thomas) Compton went to be with our Lord and Savior on November 3, 2017. She currently resided in Terrell, Tex. She was born October 7, 1929 in Merit, Tx to Bessie (Jones) Thomas and Vernon Ray Thomas both of whom preceded her in death along with her husband, William, and her brothers: Vernon Ray, Jr. and Jimmy Thomas. She graduated from Garland HS in 1946 and she met the love of her life William J. Compton and on Jan. 1, 1948 in the Rosehill Community, they married and made many treasured memories raising their family until his passing. Wanda was an active member of First Christian Church of Terrell as well as an accomplished homemaker, seamstress, artist and business woman. Later in life, she worked as a Real Estate Broker where her keen insight into what each of her clients’ wishes were enabled her to assist them with the perfect property for their needs. She had a kind and loving spirit toward every person that she met and all who knew her had an instant and devoted friend. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Wanda is loved and will be missed greatly by all who knew her. She leaves to cherish her legacy her son, Ronald Thomas Compton and wife, Cindy; daughter, Carol Compton Adams and husband, Mike; grandsons: Brent Compton (Natalie), Jeremy Compton (Molly), Aaron Adams (Lisa), Matt Adams, and Ben Adams (Meg); great grandchildren: Ava, Barrett, Dale, Jace Compton and Fiona Adams; brother, Hoyt Thomas; sister, Sharon Strawther as well as many extended family and friends. Wanda will be laid to rest at a graveside ceremony at 10:30am, Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017 at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas with a Celebration of her Life to follow at 2:00pm, Wednesday at First Christian Church, 405 N. Adelaide, Terrell, Tx, 75160. The family will receive friends 6-8pm, Tuesday, Nov. 7, at Max Slayton Funerals and Cremations in Terrell, Tx.
