NOT EXACTLY THE GIFT OF THE MAGI
Body

I know that I am blessed to be in a job where I get to interact with terrific people all of the time. Coordinating disasters is fulfilling but the time in between is also. I get to preach at a different Church almost every Sunday and afterwards I find myself surrounded with Christian Family at a potluck lunch or at a restaurant after worship. I love the fellowship. Since I have been doing it for years there are several Churches that have me back, some, every year or two. There is an old Indian saying that “You can never step in the same stream twice.” That is certainly true of the disaster relief sermon I have preached at hundreds of Churches across the country. I always changes as I realize the story of the disaster relief effort in the first century Church is a wonderful multi-faceted story and the more I tell it the more I find something new I hadn’t thought of before. I guess that is whey Churches have me back.

One thing I get to do that I love is to stay with Church members on Saturday night. I have stayed in some pretty awesome guest rooms. One thing they have in common is they are covered with a mountain of pillows. After 39 years of marriage Lori has me well trained. I always make the bed the next morning even if the sheets are going to be washed anyway.
