GOD had done miracles several times that only He could do. He wanted Israel to trust Him completely. Israel would believe GOD for a short time, but since they lived in the flesh, their faith would fade. GOD was going to prove Himself one more time for all Israel to see with their eyes because GOD told Moses to tell the people that He would come down upon the mountain in a thick cloud and meet Moses face to face so the people could see that Moses was really GOD’S servant and they could trust what Moses said to them. This is the time that GOD gave Moses the ten commandments see EXODUS: 19 & 20. When GOD appeared on the mountain the mountain shook all over and the people were warned to not come close to the edge of the mountain and not to let any animal come near because they would be put to death.
