City employees to get raises

The Forney City Council held their first public hearing Tuesday night, Aug. 22 during a special meeting. After opening ceremonies, Mayor Rick Wilson asked for a motion to open the public hearing to discuss the proposed budget. That motion was made by Council member Mary Penn, with a second by Council member David Johnson.

City Manager James Fisher gave a brief summary of the proposed budget. He began by saying the city is in good shape and that things are working for the city.
